Self-made is very self-explanatory. It is basically something that you made yourself. In most cases, the phrase is used to describe someone who did not really on others, otherwise knows as a self-made man. It is really interesting that there are people who are not familiar with this phrase. I am not exactly judging, I am just fairly amused.
